To celebrate Albany’s centennial, Librarian Richard Russo will present a slideshow of rare photographs from the Albany Library’s historical collection, including scenes of what Albany looked like 100 years ago. Location: Edith Stone Room of the library, 1247 Marin Ave. Time: Monday 12:30 pm, Oct.6.

Kids of Albany Little League listened to City Council candidates debating on sports facility issues at Albany Community Center Wednesday. It was the first time the candidates show up together to talk to the community. Click here to watch the debate online. The six candidates are Robert Lieber, Farid Javandel, Peggy Thomsen, Nick Pilch, Ellen Toomey and Leo Panian.

Nick Pilch, one of the six candidates for Albany City Council, rides his bike around town. He is also using facebook.com, a popular social networking website, to advocate his campaign ideas and seek supporters.
