    First-time City Council candidates debate

    All six candidates for Albany City Council will participate in a debate on youth sports and recreation issues at Albany Community Center Wednesday 7:15 PM – 9:15 PM, Oct. 1st. This will be the first time the candidates show up together to talk to the community. Each candidate will give a 2-minute opening statement about why they should be elected, and then respond to questions raised by the audience.

    The event is sponsored by the Albany Little League and moderated by its president David Preuss.

    The six candidates are Robert Lieber, Farid Javandel, Peggy Thomsen, Nick Pilch, Ellen Toomey and Leo Panian.
