MacGregor High student wins grand prize with a video urging youth to vote

    Grant 4

Grant Borgwardt, a junior at MacGregor High School of Albany, won the grand prize of a multimedia contest this week with a video titled “Why Vote”. Borgwardt told his young peers that “the fate of your country is up to you” , urging them to ” choose candidate, cast your ballot”,  after a historical review of the spread of voting rights in  the video clip.

The contest, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, was held for high school students in Albany, Berkeley and Emeryville to express their ideas on voting. The other four winners, Ziyad Abdelfattah, Kevin Quirolo, Reza Rezvani, and Peter Yao, are from Albany High School. Click here to read their winning essay.
